Somehow I came across this website and found it intriguing with the variety of posts that I viewed and I decided to join. I have been an eclectic collector for 45 plus years and still actively am collecting today. If an item intersts me, I will collect it. I am not a specialist. Being an eclectic collector allows me to follow any particular thread that comes along and follow it out If I so desire. My interests are: postmarks, US FDC and event covers, pictorial cancellations, worldwide used commemorative stamps, and cetain definitive stamps with overprints. I lke to follow particular topical themes in my collecting pursuits. I am attempting to start a postmark collecting group through the local 4H offices. I am always learning.

I started out thinking I was going to collect every stamp I came across to fill albums, but soon found out that I love the topical collecting more. We welcome you here and look forward to your input here and sharing of your collections!

Thanks!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Many of the collections, but not all, have either been sold or donated to veterans organzations. I have kept the most interesting collections for myself for the time being. Once I have mastered the scanning technique with this wordperfect program, I will be happy to share some of what have and what I am currently working on.

Joel - glad you found us! You and I had a conversation about albums and collecting from SOR a few months ago. I think you will like it here - the board is more active and doesn't suffer from the same computer/spam problems (knock on wood!)

You need 10 posts to e-mail other forum members and 50 posts to use the auction/sell/trade areas.

Any questions about posting pics just ask...the forum fathers are used to those questions by now.

I would be happy to post some of the items I have once I have developed some facility with all-in-machine which includes the scanner.
