Hi Everyone!
I have no idea what country this stamp is from or what the writing (overprint?) reads.

Also, I can't make out what the image is, I thought it was a horse, lolol.. looking closer, is it two men with rifles in a fox hole? Laughing allowed if I am not even close to guessing the image LOL.

On, and the moon and stars, I have several stamps with that image, is that a possible hint to what country it is?

Thank you!
SueStamps

The stamp is from Turkey 1918 (Scott 548A). The top overprint is all numeric and reads "1334" The characters at the botton that look like a backward seven are the new value of "2".

The crescent and star combination can be found on stamps from several countries, but most often Turkey and Pakistan. I usually check Turkey first.

In this case, the stamp is #548A(1918) in the Scott catalog.

The top line of overprint is the year 1334 (that's for the Rumi calendar, and corresponds roughly to the year 1918 in the Gregorian calendar).

The overprints at the bottom show that it is actually a revalued surcharge (a good example for the other thread on stamps with multiple surcharges!). The original stamp (not issued without surcharge) was denominated 1 piastre. That stamp was surcharged to 5 paras in 1917 (see the 2 "o"-like symbols that are partially obscured by the black bars at the lower left and lower right). Later (1918), the stamp was overprinted with the year 1334(i.e., 1918) and surcharged again to 2 paras (the characters that look like a backward "7" correspond to "2" in our numbers).

Since this was during WWI, I would say the stamp depicts soldiers in trench warfare.
