Hi
I'm having trouble figuring what this is. It is the design of scott #301 but my books don't list an imperforate variety

This stamp was also issued in a booklet plane of 6 it looks like this stamp was scissor cut out of the plane. Notice how close the strait edge is to the stamp design on the left and bottom. Most likely this stamp was at the upper right position on the plane

Thats what I get for not reading far enough. the catalog explains the pane of six as being imperforate but because it doesn't say it right at the listing I missed it.

Just curious
since these were issued for use and not strictly for collectors why isn't there a variety number for them as individual stamps?

Scott's does some strange stuff from time to time. I'm sure they have a good reason. . . . maybe. I was reading about this kind of thing in Scott's Stamp Monthly recently. Different people edit different sections of the catalogs and apply the rules in different ways from time to time. That's why this kind of situation seems to occasionally come up.
