Up til now I've just struggled along with a simple magnifying glass, perf gauge and watermark detector. However, it seems at this stage, I'm in serious need of a color gauge and loupe - I'm having a lot of fun with the W/Fs and am stepping cautiously into the early classics. Saw Wonder Stamp Color Gauges and a 30X21mm loupe on ebay and am curious if these will also serve most of my purposes for identifying the subtle differences in early US stamp varieties. Generally speaking, are these two items about what most of you are currently using?

I swear by my loupe. I don't know how I ever got along with just my old 1960's Waltex magnifier glass! I would have to recommend one to any serious collector. I too need a reliable color gauge.
