Hi to all
I apologise for the bad scans,.

Stanley gibbons says this about the stamp.
The normal sideways watermark on 253 shows the crown to the right of the CofA as seen from the back of the stamp.

253aw Wmk Crown to left of C of A

Now these scans show the watermark to be sideways and left of the CoA
Then that should make this the error or am I wrong.
It definately says in Gibbons when viewed from the back

Regards

Horamakhet

The water mark on this issue is sideways. I always find descriptions in catalogues confusing. The best way that I have found to determine the very rare 'inverted' watermark is: in the rare one the point of the 'A' in the CofA points the same way as Jimmy's nose, no matter whether you view it from the front or back.

In the common watermark the two point in opposite directions.

I was able to return here because you offered a good searchable
thread topic title.
Otherwise I would have given up.

Good thread titles are important
