Morning Rod!
That appears to be from a postal card UY7 slate, an 1882 reply card. Price in Unitrade is $20 for a complete card ($40 with stamp on left).

Likely at $1 cut to shape, a filler piece.

Your welcome Rod222. It's just sad that so many early collectors found it necessary to do that to stationary. I think it had alot to do with album publishers who'd only display a square cut. Cut to shape was more attractive to many people at that time!

I often muse on that, warrehouse,
thinking, if they had not cut to shape
then the piece would not have ended up as floorsweepings
and hence into my collection.
As poorer financed collectors such as I,
have to make do with poorer representations of stamps.
Fortunately it doesn't seem to matter to me,
the fact that this was at one time a genuine piece of stationery
seems to satisfy my collecting gene.

I have just mounted a 5 shilling NSW diadem, that was sadly cut to shape
but would be $50 otherwise.
It is sad collectors once did this, but they do have a place
and I am happy to get them.
