I have a color question on USA # 765 10 cents imperf Great Smokey Mountains stamp 1935. The color says gray black but the stamp I have is green. Are there any known forgeries of this stamp?

I'll try to scan it later.

Image of the original #797 Souvenir Sheet:

...and how it would look cropped down to appear simply as an imperforate stamp:

Very inexpensive souvenir sheet. Current catalog value is $0.60 (mint) and $0.40 (used).

chasa and wt1, thanks. I have the cropped version that wt1 has posted that's why I was confused. Could have helped if I turned to the next page in my catalog.

Although inexpensive they are very attractive and can be quite a challenge to get them all from that era. under priced in my opinion.

And just for the record, Asheville NC is about 75 miles east of the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains.

In 1937, Asheville would have been the nearest town large enough for a meeting. Today, the obvious choice would be Cherokee, NC.
