HI From Buffalo NY

Hi all. I used to collect and enjoy stamps when I was a kid and got away from it over the years. My dad had a huge collection that he kept in a monster wooden footlocker that I remember looking through when I was young. He sold the bulk of his collection when he got into the winter of his years but in his effects (he died in 1997) was a small assortment of stamps and stamp related items I hope to post in the forum to get an insight on what they may be worth. And who knows I may get back into this hobby. I've already recently been bitten with the coin collecting bug that I told myself never ever to start.

I'm new here too... I'm Lynn.

I would love to see some of your mystery stamps! I have quite a few myself. I had a LOT to begin with, but I've been able to look online (just googling what the stamp says, or using Google Translate for the ones in Russian) but there are some Asian stamps I have that I can't tell where they came from.

So, please post the mystery stamps! I want to see them!

Larry to S.C.F.! I too share a similar story of childhood collecting and then getting back into it again after all these years! I too am a casual coin collector and have been doing so for years and I think it's good to have more that one hobby, If you get frustrated or bored with it you can always dig out the Whitman Red Book guide to US coins (I think it's 65Th edition this year) and coins and rifle through those for s bit! Welcome again and I look forward to seeing your stamps. We LOVE pictures and most are readily willing to answer any questions you may have! ~Jay

clintd - Beef on wick for everyone! I have a coupon sitting next to me for 2 beef on wick with fries for 9.99 that I am thinking of having for supper tonight. Olcott eh? Not to date me but I can remember back when I was very very young going to the amusement park area there with my mother. The place was hopping back then. I think we took a bus from Lockport. I also have memories of swimming at Olcott Beach too. (Oh heck - I remember riding the Crystal Beach boat too) The amusement area at Olcott looks pretty much like a ghost town now. Some of the rides I rode on are still there but they look like rusty relics from a different age.
