Hello. I'm from Scotland. I collect mainly GB mint and FDC. Also have events covers... first flights, unusual means of moving mail sort of thing. Love checking out postmarks and sorting stamps. I personally believe that Alexander Graham Bell's "telephone" gadget thing is a just a passing trend. It will never replace the postal system as a means of long distance communications.
Fit like, Scotty? Welcome to the forum. There's a minor Scottish invasion going on, I think you have just swelled our numbers to 4! I spent a year in Aberdeen, just about long enough to get a handle on the lingo - I'm a West Coast teuchter myself. Anyhow, SCF is a friendly place so I think you'll enjoy it here.
I'm sure you'll find others here with the same collecting interests as you. I love collecting postmarks as well and digging into a pile of used stamps.
As for that telephone-thingy, I agree it's a passing fad!
I'm Lynn... love your introduction post! Yeah, that pesky telephone thing won't last. hahaha
And as much as I love the internet, I hate what instant messaging has done to grammar and spelling. It has become so NOT cool to use proper capitalization, punctuation and grammar.
Oh, I love sorting stamps, too! I have a dining room table full of stamps that are going to get sorted today so I can get some of the partial plates I have up for sale. I don't collect plates yet... yet
