I have never ever received this page before when sending payment to an SCF member. I smell a scam, anyone seen this before? Thanks for any advice.

I have never seen this page before either. Did this come up after you logged in to Paypal or did it arrive in an email ?
On site, my Bank account number is ALWAYS partly shown and I never have to give the rest of the number.
Be aware.

Cheers Mike, after I logged into Paypal.
I'll have to suspend all payments till I clear this up. I'll pay ASAP Ram. I'll run all my malware protection stuff.
May I add, it's comforting to have friends to ask when skulduggery appears to arrive. Sometimes this is more than a stamp community.

SCAM! SCAM! PHISHING! DO NOT REPLY!
This kind of thing is some sort of attempt to steal account numbers.
If it came as a part of a transaction, inform Paypal immediately and refuse to answer.
If it is a seperate email, it's a standard phishing email. Also inform Paypal and forward the whole thing to their security department.
In the off chance it is a legitimate request from them (unlikely) on general principles I would think hard about sending them such information. |

After you login make sure the Paypal URL starts with https://www.paypal.whatever ... the "s" is from a secure connection and that's paypal...if there is no "s" after http then the connection source can't be trusted. |

Paypal does not do that. It's a scam. Ask them for ALL their details and a phone number then send ONLY those details the CROOKS provided to Paypal. Seek Police advice in order to set a trap. |

Rod - I just re-read your post; did you get that request while logged into your account? If so it could be genuine. |

Rod go right to the Paypal site and there is a security section and one of the options is to report a suspicious email and I would assume there is also a way to contact them and check you link. - Jeff |

Looks like an encrypted SSL connection to me so I think that's the real Paypal site. |

Status: I have submitted a request to paypal, and submitted a thread on the paypal forum.
I gotta say, coming from an age where you once bought an item, and if you had a problem, you visited the shopkeeper. Nowadays, it is all hidden behind a digital curtain I am experiencing a certain amount of frustration you don't know when you will get an answer, and whether it will be good advice or not.
I don't mind ceasing all SCF auctions, but I have people I have to pay for goods, so do I risk compromising my bank account, or not pay my friends for a few weeks. An ugly situation.

I feel for your situation Rod. Nice to have SCF people at your finger tips. It is a learning curve for me as well. John |
