I just read another post about you having about 50 different types of lillies. Don't kid yourself, that is a collection!

As I see it, no matter what you collect, it can become boring and tedious if it is a hobby you don't share.
Sharing in your knowledge and experience is all part of the process of collecting.
I know there are collectors out there that are secretive but imagine how much more fun they could have if they were in here with us

Diane we have hundreds of hostas..you know how they multiply..i cant believe what the nurseries charge for a plant..i tell my friends to come and split them and take em away...the bad part is they draw the deer..but they make excellent borders when not eaten by the deer !

Greg. a guy made me up some venison pepperoni..some of these guys around here bag a lot of deer..a German smoke house accross the river makes up the smoked venison and sausages..they weigh what the guys bring in and process it ...i find killing a deer a burden..my oldest son will take some..i like a vension steak sandwich or two with a hot pepper ..the wife and rest of family does not care for the meat..if I hunt with my brother and we get one I say give me 10 or 12 pounds and keep the rest for your family....

I have a small side collection of coin & currency as I come across it. It doesn't hurt that I work at a bank and occasionally a customer will bring in a silver certificate or mercury dime, etc. I also collect elongated coins, world fair admission tickets, comic books (most of which I've sold cheap), Hard Rock Cafe pins, 1st edition Anne Rice novels, postcards etc.

i play around with postcards..at shows I look at the address side for stamps..and the ones from the 1939 New York Worlds Fair ! I worked at a bank when I got out of the service in 62..there was no work..so I took the bank..one of the uppity customers complained that I was surly ! yeah I probably didnt care for his attitude..for 67 bucks a week I could afford to be surly !!

"Now That's an obsession"

Dianne
I was the chairman for the Massachussetts Orchid Society's show several years ago and I made the theme of the show "orchids, obsession or addiction?"

I can see why you love them Ziggy9

Ochids are beautiful. Someone gave me a half dead one a few months ago. I nursed it back to health and it rewarded me by blooming for a couple of months.
