My Scott National albums are showing there age of 30 plus years. Has anyone here done any spine repairs that look good and perform as well? I have googled a few book binding repair sites and was looking for some feedback. Here are a couple of pictures of what I'm looking at.

I replaced my old National album cover with a Scott Specialty 3-ring binder -- now the pages lay flat when the binder is opened. I did have to 3-hole punch the older pages that only had 2 holes for the posts.

I have been buying lightly used Scott binders from dealers at shows and on ebay. After dealers break down collections they often have them for sale.

Yes, that is an option, but the 3 rings are deeper and are not compatible with the the 2 post slipcases and my National is 4 volumes and I expect to have a few more blow outs.I don't really want to change them all over.

Yes this is another option, show purchases you can judge age but online, well buyer beware. You just never know how long a used binder will hold up, and from my experience what appears lightly used, may be 2 or 3 folds from splitting. I guess being frugal has it's downfalls.

matching or black electrical tape spaced properly looks fine to me. After placing the tape on the binder, heat it up a little with a heat gun to make it stick that much better.
