Hi to all
I bought this book for its dedication and not the title.
The book was published in 1976 so is woefully out of date.
The dedication says it all "Avarice, Long may it Reign"
Regards
Horamakhet

I hope Bill wasn't recommending investing in 5/- Bridges. They haven't done much to repay their keep.

A handsome stamp of course, but emphatically not a good investment. In my 1984 Gibbons (the closest I can get to 1976), the 5/- Bridge was £450; in the 2012 Gibbons, it's ... £425

I have one of those stamps. They can't be valued that high...can they? Do explain?

EDIT: After much frantic searching I found it....but wrong denomination. Oh well still a cool stamp!

I have to say, the dedication alone is worth the purchase.

The dedication on that book reminds me of an add that was in an Aussie magazine called Pix magazine in the late fifties early sixties. The add ran:
" Book for sale on how to make money fast" send 1/-
I remember because my stepfather did send the 1/-. And he did receive a book, but it only had one page in it; on it were printed the following words:

Take out an add in a popular magazine as follows:

" Book for sale on how to make money fast" send 1/-

It was worth the laugh we all got from it!
