Jony78, your stamp is a GB stamp from 1864. It is Scott catalogue #33 or Stanley Gibbons # 44. The plate number appears in the middle of the scroll area on the right of the stamp. I see what appears to be a "8" or "3" but can't pick out any other characters.

Congratulations on the WORST thread title in the history of the board

Only possible worse subject line would be " ? "

jony,

Don't worry about Kirk. He'd just got home from work and hadn't had his supper. He's very grumpy on an empty stomach.

If you go the edit button [That's the third icon from the left at the top of your initial post, to the right of your name] and change the title to something like 'GB. Penny Red help needed' it would be good and helpful for searching.

Nice stamp......also the LB !

Londonbus1.....LB.

This made me but kind of makes me wonder what would
have happened to jony78 if he had posted this title on that
Other stamp forum Down under.
The admin/sheriff there would have skinned him alive.

Specifically:

Due to the centering, one copy of the numbers (they would be the same) has been cut off.

Also, the corner letters on the bottom would be the opposite of those on the top, therefore, the top would read B L and the bottom would be L B. The bottom letters designate the plate position Row L: 12th row out of 20, and column B: 2nd column (out of 12).

Litho,

English humour at it's worst !
I was joking.
Skinned alive, got kicked off, came to a safe haven [SCF].

I'm out of practice. I'll watch a few shows in England at Christmas.
Should be in better form in the New Year !

So you're going back to the Olde country to get some pointers,
eh LB?

What I meant was that a member who titles his threads ***strange***
***red*** and/or ***CANCELS*** wouldnt have escaped the wrath of the sheriff for too long.
