I opened a can of worms by the looks of it :-)
I also use the glue stick now and then... but Not exclusively.. If they don't cancel them, HOW would they be able to tell it was used? I have seen tons of unused stamps that had to be soaked because of humidity and sticking together from unsafe storage..
I feel it totally impossible for them to know.. if they don't cancel.

I used to re-use, until I read an interesting forum. Google "is it stealing to re-use stamps", or something like that. I was convinced by the arguments presented that this activity amounted to the same thing as stealing. By re-using stamps that have already been used you are essentially getting someone to do paid work without paying them. So for me it's not a question of whether it's illegal, or whether you will be pursued, its a question of values.
Sometimes I sell my uncancelled stamps on ebay...thereby placing the ethical dilemma on the next person.

I agree but how many stamps are NOT used and have no glue because they where badly stored and had to be soaked? Lots, I have come across may hundred and maybe 1000s. Should you not be able to use them? Sure why not..

That's true. There are a lot of stamps like that, and it's impossible to tell the difference just by looking at them. One is used but "uncancelled", the other is mint NG. I see nothing wrong with gluing on a mint NG,
