Iceland Scott #68b. Overprint was used to revalidate these stamps for postage. Please notice, on the second overprint stamp the apostophe appears after the 02 instead of in front of it. These types of errors is what makes collecting overprinted stamps so interesting.

I agree sincerely. This does make overprints so much fun. You may notice some other varieties which already have made an appearance in this thread. Your contribution, Falcon, is a welcome addition.

Here is a strange one but interesting.

Definitive series (Bing Translation)
After the definitive stamp to 0.51 euro with the image of the "Schönlaterngasse", now the other definitive stamps that no longer match the new tariffs, were overprints artistically with the default value of 55 cents. The Hochschule for Angewandte Kunst in Vienna invited the students to a design contest. The task was to find original graphic proposals for the excess pressure of old nominal values. The students of two classes enthusiastically sat down on this project and had excellent, innovative and surprising ideas. The best submissions were selected by a jury and are now available as stamps. Eight definitive stamps will be reprinted in 2005 as overprinted stamps to 0.55 EUR. EUR 0.87 - from the cow from Central Mountain Brook was the "Kubra" with the help of shadows and a drawing of a zebra.
