year upon year upon year upon year.

I have full sets of the issues dating back to the 50's in cover set albums.

I think there are some that were issued in the 30's, too.

Anything in particular I should keep my eye out for in these sets?

First Day Covers from the 1950's through the present day generally have very limited value. In fact, I have seen some modern issues sell for half of face value (or even less).

The older ones from the 1930's and 1940's can be worth quite a bit more, depending on the cancellation and most especially if they have a cachet applied. Scan a few of them here and I'm sure some of our SCF members will be able to help you out.

Besides, I'd like to see them, too!

I don't know the first thing about these, but I recall hearing that certain cachet makers are more in demand than others...maybe there is a short list, or a rule of thumb that someone can share?

I have silks and ink (b&w and color) cachets, too. Coronado silks.

One of the Coronado silks I cannot identify..it has two ships with a military officer on it...and above the silk, it says, "Sample."

Does it make a difference if theyre not cancelled?

I find my FDCs come dirt cheap the newer they are, and then rise in price before WW2.
After WW2 to present, you can come by FDCs for mere cents each, to maybe 2 bux if you have a REAL nice cachet.
The Coloranos seem to be on the higher end of that range.
Before WW2, FDCs start bringing solid dollars instead of cents. 1 to 5 in general, but there are a very few valueable freaks.
