Master Moe,

I thought I would try my hand at some detective work on this one and when I googled it I found someone else has already asked about a different valued stamp from the same country and the thread for it with the answers others from the forum had found can be found here.........https://goscf.com/t/12937 Hope this helps out.

I'm always amazed that when trying to find answers to questions posted on this forum, Google will frequently point me back to SCF for the answer!

thanks and by any chance do you any British stamp experts who would know values for stamps like silver jubilee collection or king George.

The paper is quite often referred to as 'pelure' paper. Some call it 'onion skin' paper. This type of paper was used on a lot of the pre East Germany regular stamps, or more commonly referred to as the "Pre Soviet Forerunners"
