I have some duplicates. In fact 3 or 4 different stamps with about 100 each. I hate to burn them. What do you guys do with excess duplicate stamps.

I chunk them in envelopes and put them into my trade box. I keep about four extras of each stamp I have in my book and the rest I save for trade. You never know when someone will want 1000 lib bell stamps ;)

I save my duplicates for those collectors just starting. When I find out they are needing a certain one or group I'll send it their way. Of course, I'm only talking about the common stamps, mostly stuff since the 1930s.

You have many choices 1 would be the boy scouts another would be the vets, Many churches take in stamps then sell them as kilo-ware. Or what was also said give them to a newbie. a couple of guys here are involved with youth clubs and they be glad to pass them on to the younger collectors.

I agree with the above,
I keep bulk issues of GB and India
Not only for flyspecking, but creating a page/s of
stamps with differing postmarks that paint a picture of the time
they were issued.
I have 12 pages alone of the lined and solid background GB KG5 issues.

With respect, burning stamps is not an option,
some would consider vandalism.
There is always a use somewhere.

I take my dups to the seniors, boy scouts and nursing homes. I try to spend some time with the people and encourage them to start collecting. If not for themselves...Their kids and grandkids

Well if we get our new club started. First meeting is 27th of February. I'm sure we will attract some new collectors and I will be able to give them stamps to help them get started.

We have a group here that creates artwork with them. There's always a good way to pass them along
