Hi,

Just wondering where's the best place to get info on stamps? Are book still the go or has the net taken over? And what books and sites are best please.

I think it depends on what you're looking for. If you're interested in basic information (i.e. date, order, rate, etc) then the web might be sufficient. If you're looking for specialized information then paper is still probably your best bet - at least until everything is finally digitized (which may be far from now).

What areas do you collect?

hi ausjack ! You eventually need specialized catalogs in your interests but there is plenty of info available on the net. Start with a general search for your topic and gradually build a list of preferred sites, for example, if you are keen on birds these links are useful

Can anyone recommend a good book that covers more that just beginners info say up to beyond the intermediate level.

Thanks very much people but now I'm in more of a catch 22 can't decide until I get a book to look at things that might take my fancy but then you need to know what book

But she's all good as this is what I was after so I have a bit to think about, thank you

AUSJACK-----The first book to get if you plan on builting a library is ----FUNDAMENTALS OF PHILATELY by L.N.Williams it is a old book and you should find a few aviable ,its the best book written for beginners and advance collectors .

ebay currently has five copies of the book FUNDAMENTALS OF PHILATELY by L.N.Williams up for auction. All of them are listed as "Buy it now' in the $30 - $40 range.
