A couple more interesting (I think) covers/cancels.

Cover using a piece from 1947 souvenir sheet, and canceled for Thirtieth Anniversary U.S.A.A.C. (United States Army Air Corps?) From Camp Crane in Allentown PA.

Kansas City postmark for Kansas City Centennial.

Seemingly innocuous cover with Centennial of American Poultry Industry stamp, until you look at the sender. Breeder of Pedigreed Black Minorcas. Chickens!

You might be interested in this quote based on the addressee of the cover you show as addressed to Mr. George Kaiser, Jr., of the Ringling School of Art:

Quote:
The Admissions Program had long been handled entirely by Mr. George R. Kaiser, Jr., who was also Registrar. In addition to these important responsibilities he taught fifteen hours a week. The contribution to the school by Mr. Kaiser in these and so many other capacities over the years must be described as extraordinary to say the least. He was a strong administrator, highly organized, and a respected teacher and artist. After leaving his administrative duties he became a full time teacher and continues to serve in this capacity at the time of this writing. Few people, other than Presidents Kimbrough and Perkins, fully realize the extent and quality of the contribution made to the school by this highly talented man. Ringling School of Art owes him a great debt of gratitude for developing and administering a highly efficient admissions program and Registrar's Office.

Not Air Corps, but Ambulance Corps. USAAC = US Army Ambulance Corps.

Refer to this history of Camp Crane:

Also, here's an ebay offer for a cacheted cover with the same postmark as yours, only a couple of days later:

A very interesting and attractive lot James. I recall going to the Ringling Museum in Sarasota many years ago with my grandpa, a fantastic place full of circus memorabilia

Yes it's an interesting bunch. Almost 100 covers. There are a number to the Ringling School of Art (not sure if it's connected to the circus, but is still running today) and many are addressed directly to Mr Kaiser, including Magazine of Art.
Also lots to Travelers Insurance.
The late collector, it was an estate sale, had created an interesting collection of stamps starting from 1940 (starting with SC#889) and showed each stamp in progression through the catalogue, on covers. Each cover was labeled with the catalogue number. Unfortunately he more than occasionally wrote the number directly on the envelope, very boldly in ink.
But an interesting lot just the same, including what I'm calling the Augusta collection, shown on another thread.
Here are a couple more.

A neat airmail. Sent from one fellow in St. Petersburg Florida to another fellow in St. Petersburg Florida, but postmarked in Staten Island NY.

A normal looking cover to the insurance company, but the date slug is upside down.

I stand corrected. The school was funded by John Ringling of circus fame.
