One of the US covers I picked up at auction yesterday is from the Mission Stamp Bureau in Spokane Washington.
Googled it but can't seem to come up with a lot of concrete info. Anybody know what it is/was?

Here is a 1936 article mentioning the bureau. The article doesn't cite an affiliation but Loyola University is a Jesuit institution so I imagine the bureau may have been a Jesuit mission.

It seems to have been a charitable organization which collected used stamps for resale with proceeded going to the Catholic Church. If you Google 'Mission Stamp Bureau' enclosed in quotation marks you'll find related information.
