Can someone tell me what Trans. Clk. means on this New Haven cancel. Also what does the RMS stand for. Aren't there usually numbers on the right side of these?

OK, found it on another tread. RMS = Railway Mail Service. How's about the rest?

A nice duplex cancel. "RMS" = Railway Mail Service, the later designation to "RPO" (Railway Post office). Likewise, the "Trans. Clk." is probably the abbreviation for "Transit Clerk".

Thanks wt1. Transit clerk had crossed my mind, but couldn't be sure.
An interesting aside, the cancel date is my birthday (almost to the hour) but ten years before.

The back is canceled July 20 in St. Petersburg FL.
