Just announced this morning by the USPS is the 85c Glacier National Park stamp to be issued on January 19, 2012:

How beautiful is this?! The Glacier National Park stamp is part of the Scenic American Landscapes series and features a gorgeous photograph by Michael Melford. It will be issued on Jan. 19 at the international rate.

This will be in addition to the 85c strip of 5 "Birds of Prey" issue previously announced. Presumably the "Birds of Prey" issue was intended to be for the 3rd oz. of domestic mail; the "Glacier National Park" with it's "airmail logo" is designated for mail to Canada and Mexico, although I believe the stamps can be used interchangeably.

I don't know if anybody's much noticed this, but I was just reading the specs on the 85c Glacier National Park stamp and note that they are issuing "only" 30 million stamps.

By comparison, in April 2011, the 80c Voyaguers National Park stamp (which was in-use for only 10 months) had 40 million stamps printed.

I guess with such a vast quantity of stamps involved, even a 25% reduction in the printing of this stamp will still provide for plenty to go around, it just seems as though the USPS is already projecting less use of these stamps.
