I am wanting to put together a Stamp Display in a large/huge picture frame.Do any of you folks have one put already put together that you could post a picture of to give me some ideas. I thought I should have enough duplicates to use to fill any size picture frame. I will be using this several times including taking it to our local High School to try to encourage Teenagers to start collecting. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a great idea to get others involved, but unfortunately my own experience is only in doing the smaller versions like regular stock paper as seen in a couple of the posts today. You could probably expand something like that though as it does take a few pages sometimes to get an entire set or theme done with the single sheets. Good luck with this project.

I've been thinking of just taking a huge pile of stamps, spreading them all out so it fills a layer and encasing it in the glass. Nothing in order or anything, just make it look like art or like the puzzles you sometimes see. Just a big collage.

In your case, you could do that and have a contest for the kids to see how many they can identify or something like that to make them study it.

Several years ago my friend from New York mailed me a Christmas card via our U.S. Postal Service and it arrived in great shape. It was a large picture frame, with glass intact, of all U.S. Christmas stamps issued to date. Bruce did a great job of packaging my "Card" and an even better job of mounting all those stamps. It now hangs in my apartment in Florida, Unfortunately, I'm at my home in Georgia so no picture. I'll try and get one posted when I get back next week.

I made a "Trains" display with a mat board cut with the word TRAIN and then layed all the train stamps from all over the world in the 'letters'. Turned out pretty nice if I say so myself... Nice frame and all... trouble is - I didn't take a photo of it before giving it to him for Christmas...

Are you going to organize them in any way? What about setting it up like an exhibit?

Yes I intend to set them up as a display/exibit. I was thinking of some theme's like "Moving Mail" a display showing all the ways that have been used to Transport or Move/Deliver mail. Also I thought about a "National Park Display".

Stamperdude your displays look AWESOME! Thanks for sharing.

P.S. I can see I have a lot of work to do.

Tinman, I have a PowerPoint presentation on this very topic. I used various U.S. stamps to illustrate it. I'd be happy to share it with you, if you're interested.

Hey TinMan,

I got a failure notice saying the file was too large for your mailbox. Any idea how to overcome this obstacle?

Congratulations on your 50 posts!

A.
