I think there 1985 and 1986 records are incorrect, as Tuvalu issued 370 and 310 different designs respectively, and that does not include intentional imperforate stamps of the same issues.

I have a database of all Tuvalu issues based from the Philatelic Bureau news releases:

BeeSee, I check the #s and they are correct. Tuvalu did not make the top ten either year.
Does your #'s include all the small island local issues? They would have been seen as a different entity.
I think they are using design images not perf variation in their count!

That is a general error when catalogues consider the Tuvalu "islands" as separate entities. They are not and never were. They never had any sort of postal autonomy. They stamps inscribed with their name were never placed on sale there.

The status is similar to modern U.S. stamps like the U.S. state flag series (or wildlife, monuments etc). One inscribed "New York - USA" is not listed under New York, it is listed under USA.

Similarily stamps inscribed Nui - Tuvalu should be listed under Tuvalu alone and be included in the total amount for the country in the year of issue.

The stamps with all island names were only sold and used by the Philatelic Bureau on Funafuti, the capital.

Regular definitive stamps inscribed Tuvalu were the only ones sold on the outer islands.

I was in Tuvalu when the stamps were first issued.

I'm loving that BeeSee would argue so hard to get his favourite country on the Worst Offending list

BeeSee, Don't shoot the messenger! LOL

Then there is the Hawaii overprints of 1928, Scott #647-8 only sold in Hawaii & Washington DC, but are listed as US instead of Hawaii.
This is the same thing the British did for there colonies, I mean they were issued in London before going to the colony &those issues are listed under those colonies.
