Additional Coverage for registered post Canada.

Additional Coverage is available for domestic Registered Mail items up to $5,000, for a fee. Certain exceptions apply.

Canada Post shall have no liability for loss or damage of Registered Mail items containing banknotes, stocks, bonds, coupons or other securities negotiable by the bearer, lottery tickets, travellers' cheques, coins, jewellery, manufactured and non-manufactured precious metals, precious stones, gold bullion, gold dust or cancelled or uncancelled postage stamps.

I think that 'most' post office entities are all one-sided that way as it is. I can understand your predicament.

Basically anything of value sent through the mail wether insurance is paid for or not is a total gamble? I wonder if you can get a temporary rider on your house insurance to cover sending say a coin collection or grandmas diamonds or of course a very valuable stamp.

We have a good relationship with our insurance company as we have been with them for over 25 years and never claimed.

Tried to get a cheaper rate from other places 12 months ago but the cheapest was 100% more than what we pay now.

We have house and contents. 2 cars that cover a teenager 1 on the island and 1 on the mainland + rego 3rd party with them.

Thanks I will give them a call. No insurance, No buying stamps in Canada. It is as simple as that.

Makes ebay .com.ca or .com from Canada look dangerous and ebay .com from Aussie great stuff.

No wonder Puzzler has a pickle jar!
