I see that this stamp has a hand written cancel. Can anyone tell me something about this. Also condition and value of stamp? does the hand written cancel add value? Thanks Big Ed
Some actively collect pen/manuscript cancels (like myself) but it's been said that pen cancels actually detract from the value although I tend to disagree so I suppose it goes back to what you enjoy seeing in your collection.
Right now I am looking at a lot of stamps, about (5000). My brother sent them to me. I have old and new. U. S. and world. I know I am going to collect wildlife. I already have started a good duck stamp collection. I have birds, and other animal stamps. Doing some topicals. and I have one album of pre-1960. I am a little over whelmed, but having lots of fun. Thanks for the feed back. Big Ed
