I am curious if someone can offer advice or point me to an authoritative guide on the US Shanghai overprints. I am looking at some of these online, and they are expensive enough that I want to know how to identify forgeries before bidding.

I'd be interested in similar information, too. Actually, I have a set as scanned below, however they are all heavily hinged and several represent quite poor centering.

The set was given to me, so I have never had it expertized to confirm if it is real or not. I assume it's real, based on where it came to me from, but if I were to sell them, chances are I'd need some documentation to go with it:
