OK, I plead guilty , I'm one of those lurkers that occasionally gets mentioned when someone decides to expose the "logged in" vs the "folks in the bushes" count ....

There are times when I feel compelled to comment on the various posts but don't do so cause I have not introduced myself ! So ..... here goes..

I'm retired from numerous professions , jack of all trades . master of none ( age 66 ) but as far as my philatelic history goes I was part of the great 1970's buying and selling frenzy ( oh man , do I feel old ). I remember selling pre-1940 Used Canada @ 50% of scott , no questions asked as long as the stuff was VF+ ) , I guess those days are gone As many have stated I restarted my collecting a couple years ago ( boy' do I have a lot to learn ) Scared to death of early US ...... o' man , there's a lot to learn !!

So anyway I've been totally impressed and somewhat intimidated by the level of knowledge here , and oh by the way thanks for all the links that now overwhelm my browser bookmarks ( stamps / reference ).

So anyhow , I'll still be here but with a lot more questions than answers now that I specialize in Mint pre-1946 US. ( I did manage to complete the "Airmail" portion ..... yeah ! , but the regular issues are another problem all together

Regards to all,
JimBob

Hey JimBob, glad you are with us now. Sounds like you have had quite the stamp ride yourself. There may be a lot to learn, but you are holding onto alot also. Those years of collecting translate into experience and we all look forward to seeing some of your stuff and trading stories. Great to have you with us. WELCOME! - Jeff

Welcome Jim,

I feel like you're in good company here. Early US issues are still a challenge for myself but for me that's part of the allure.

Look forward to hearing more of your stories and perhaps seeing some of your collection.

Welcome

Like you and many others, I have restarted collecting after years of inactivity. One good part about re entering the hobby as a grown up, much more $$ to spend.
