Dear KGV,
I have a favourite dealer whom I get my shades off. I am still on probation though so cannot post any of his promo catalogues on here until I have served my apprenticeship. once I am a trusted member I will let you have some info,
sincerely,

Dear floortrader,
The shades I was referring to were all numbered in the original margins, of George V sheets. There are usually 12 different shades and then you have to remember that there are many different values, plus more than one sort of portrait, I own more than you believe exist, my collection is still not complete. I would be pleased to post some once my probation period is over,
sincerely,

This is a photocopy from the book "The Redhead" by Colin Beech.
Published by The British Society of Australian Philately.

This is the best info I can find at the minute. But it will help us to understand the huge range of shades in the Aust Penny Reds of 1914 to 1920.
The section marked as 1930 I draw your attention to for shade numbers.

This is a Deep Salmon Eosin.

A stamp with a name called, "Sydney No 17"
Even with a rarest shade there is many different shades in the same shade group.

Hi Floortrader.

Quote:
Don't you guys think a little hot water and then add soap in some dishes and another dish add a little peroxide and what ever chemicals you have around the house to different dishs to soak the stamp .Then add a little or a lot of sunshine ,then a combination of different experiments of light sources on the wet ink and WHA-LA .....a new shade .
I have to belive you can manufacture those color shades .

Fadelings and changelings are a pimple on the back side of the 1d red collector. Mostly UV longwave shade reactions will tell the collector if a shade has been tampered with. Also some times false shades can be seen in daylight only.
