total newby, bought a book of 1800's stamps for my father-in-law who only collects mint sheets.so kept the books for my sons and got interested myself. doing alot of reading to bone up.probably won't offer up any advice because my ignorance would probably offend but I do like to read all your posts

Welcome exbell, No there is nothing to worry about with this group. You will be up to speed before you know it. This is coming from someone only a year into collecting stamps, you will always be learning. I only wish I started years ago, but if I did, I would still be learning. So tag along, put an input, ask questions, and away we go.  |

Hello exbell, welcome!  I find my brain can just hold so much and it has to percolate around in there and find a place to settle and then I can move on to some new learning experience in stamp collecting and study. I learn a lot on here from posting a pic of something and stating what I think I kow and then others post correcting me and adding to the info so I learn. You learn quickest by making mistakes or at least have the opportunity to learn. We all like pics of stamps and info is great too but there are a lot of folks here who will help fill in the holes. I like posting that welcome sign!  |

Hi everyone.
Just joined yesterday and have found tons of info already. Great place to talk about this wonderful hobby. I have collected off and on for a number of years but so much I dont know. Hoping I will be able to join in the conversations with something useful to say. HOPEFULLY.
