Here are a couple.





Here are three that are a little different -- the stamps commemorate the 1939 International Auto and Motorcycle Exhibition in Berlin. Several advertisers would either hand-out advertising cards at the show, or give them out at their places of business with proof of attendance. The stamps were mounted on the advertising cards and cancelled to order.

These are from the Dresdner Bank, and are actually on coin wrappers.

Along the line of Battlestamps JFK memorial memory, I've got this Gedenkkarte commemorating his 1963 trip to Berlin.



I'm not sure it's the most attractive souvenir out there.

Just a comment. President Kennedy was so successful with his saying: Ich bin ein Berliner because a Berliner is a special filled Donut....

At least he wasn't giving his speech in Hamburg. Then he would have said he was a hamburger.

Oh,Jamesw, I just have to do this....

In 1991 my youngest son graduated from the army's helicopter school in Ft. Ruckers, AL. The commencement speaker was the commander of the German helicopter school (Nato)in Hamburg. His son was also in the graduating class so he had the honor to give the speech. This gentleman started with his experience as a young man in Berlin watching Kennedy speak and he shared how much he wanted to come to the states ever since then....
and he said he was born and raised in Hamburg but he was not a Hamburger he was a Whopper... We all cracked up, the ice was broken...

Well I have a couple of those memory card stamps, but not the cards. This is the first time I have come across this term.

My daughter is having a sleep over in the basement where my computer is and I've been banished by a small horde of teenage girls!

Does this come under this 'Memory Card' category? It's a cover, but not a first day cover. It marks the opening of the 1968 Olympics in Mexico.
