The posts about perforations (and my desire to do anything but actually earn my paycheck) led me to look at the subject of reperfing or faking perfs.

Fake stamps have been around for a very long time. The best defense is to know about the stamps you are considering. They are getting better at it but there are still signs like those covered in the links.
