Hello From The Hill Country Of Texas

Just getting into this hobby and have been pouring over the pages on this forum trying to get a grip on what I want to collect but still a bit unsure. Everything interest me and seems appealing. I was thinking of focusing on Native American stamps and Bison but havent really found much of a guide for either of those. Still trying to decide on albums and tools. Just new and lots to read and absorb at this point. I really enjoy this forum its great.

One other thing to add I really enjoy all things NASA or anything to do with space exploration, so thats a direction I might enjoy.

I had picked one small area to collect, after returning to the hobby from years absence, and somehow it has expanded, after reading on SCF, into more and the more, and then oh, why don't I get a few of those and hmmm, that looks interesting and so on.

It's all good, as the saying goes.

Thanks Puzzler, thats what is happening to me, I just read more and see more, its hard to decide. I dont want to go at this in a shot-gun pattern but it may well happen that way after all.LOL Happy as can B........

Welcome! The forum is a great place to learn about all aspects of the hobby, and to benefit from hearing about others' collecting interests. I would say just get on out there and get stuck in, collect whatever catches your eye at first, and see which way (or ways!) it ultimately goes.
I believe there are online lists of stamps covering certain topics, maybe someone else could chime in with the link?
If you're really stuck, a cheap worlwide kiloware lot will let you experience a lot of different stamps, and you'll begin to learn even more.
With albums, if you are unsure, may I suggest you start with stockbooks? These are relatively cheap, and are very flexible and useful. Even if you ultimately decide to invest in some bound albums, or to print your own pages, or whatever, you will always have a use for the stockbooks for keeping spares or organising stamps for mounting.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome and yes at the moment I am keeping everything I get my hands on and have to admit there are alot of very interesting stamps out there that really appeal to me so I am on my way to a new adventure lets see where it leads me.

It certainly has been fun and educational, I cant wait to get my first album started. Looking at the Vario G pages, they seem nice. I like the black background, from what I've seen it makes the stamps really pop on the page. Thanks to everyone for the really nice welcome.
