While we are on the topic of beer, I have this cover to show. It is an advert cover from the Val. Blatz Brewing Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Hope the cover is appropriate in here? Chimo Bujutsu |

Well Ajnabii, I have been known to have a few Carlsbergs in the past. I always liked it. Haven't had one in years though. I don't collect the beer covers per se but always keep the interesting advert covers. <G> Chimo Bujutsu |

The junior section of stamp collectors has a much healthier membership than, the junior section of beer label collectors!! |

Looks like to me that the author of that story manipulated the numbers a little to make his case for Beer Label collecting being more popular than Stamp Collecting. I find it hard to believe that only 809 listings were up for stamps on ebay. Even it he was referring to new listings that would have to be way low. Also, how do you single out and do a search for just "rare" stamps? Right now there are over 572,000 listings just under Europe in the Stamp category on ebay versus 9,408 under Collectibles/Breweriana,Beer/Labels. In case your counting that's around 562,000 more stamp listings for European stamps than there are for beer labels. Maybe he was looking at ebay Vanuatu? |

I think he just searched 'us rare' as at this time that gives me 685 stamps on ebay dot com. Then search for 'usa rare' and get 400+ extra. |

My philosophy about beer is pretty near to the one I have about stamps: There are very few I don't like. Although, I am willing to admit to drinking some CTO beers! Miller is considered a gourmet beer here. It's sad to have to tell people that where I'm from only soldiers waiting for payday, university students, and "lesser men" drink that. I can't see beer can and label collecting being as widespread as stamps. |

Great cover Chimo- My dad used to drink that all the time and I think the name came from the noise made when you fell down and went "BLATZ" well thats what he said anyway. |

LOL - great stories. I don't think I have ever tried that brew. I wish a 6 pack was 99 cents today though Chimo Bujutsu |
