Two of my most favourite things (my wife and daughters are up there too )
An interesting article in the Globe and Mail newspaper this past weekend spoke volumes gallons about beer. But stamps got a mention too. Apparently beer labels are more popular to collect than stamps.

Here's one quote:
"On Dec. 9 last year, ebay listed 809 rare stamps. Of the few that sold, the most expensive fetched $587.73. On the same day, 140,877 beer labels were up for sale. Fully 17,098 of them sold, for a top price of $611.17."

Personally I like them both together.

Cheers!

Beer labels are cheaper than classic stamps. Maybe the sellers should lower the prices and they would sell more (something about supply and demand, no demand if supply to costly).

Do you mind if I drink the beer first, then I will carefully take off the labels later?

So some collect beer labels. That's new to me. I like beer but I prefer to collect stamps. Don't imagine myself soaking bottles of beer and peel of the labels. Have a good one!

I used to collect beermats and beer glasses. My brother (who used to drive a truck for a beer distributor) collects metal bottle openers (amongst other breweriana ex.neon signs). Unfortunately, he doesn't work for them anyore. I miss those days that beer used to "fall off the back of the truck". Isn't beer also a popular subject for topical stamp collectors?

Back in my high school days (before I was age of majority and it was still fun) If you could peel the whole label without tearing it you were called a virgin. Must have been better quality glue back then because now just put a few in a coller with water and ice and they fall off. Maybe they went to self adhesive instead of gum also. Do MNH beer labels have higher value? My x brother in law had literally 100's of thousands of beer caps only of labatts Blue and was going to do a whole room walls and all with them.

Had a beer can collection when I was a kid. I remember digging in old dumps in Wisconsin for some of them. But like the comic books I had when younger my mom probably took care of them.

I think also as a stampers we need to drink and stamp responsibly.

Also found this on line that I did not know concerning USPS delivery of alcohol.

Well, like I said, there's no reason you can't mix the two (in moderation of course!)

Well, some people collect beer cans and bottles. It takes up a lot more space than stamps. Plus the whole house starts smelling like beer. Something a stamp collection won't do is stink up the house. :)
