I have searched this site as well as others to try and identify the cancel on this Belgium Stamp Scott #121. There is a significant difference in the rarity of the postal vs. railroad cancel for this particular stamp as mentioned by Scott. Unfortunately, Scott's only mentions the difference without any references. It is obviously not the rectangular railroad cancel, but since the railroad also used circular cancels I am uncertain. Any help in identifying the source of this cancel is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the picture!

It appears to say BRUSSEL BRUXELLES, i.e. Brussels in Flemish and French.

I would guess this is a regular postal cancel but will be keen to see if any Belgium collectors confirm this or not.

The Belgian Scott #121 (SG193) was issued in 1915, and has the word FRANKEN over the doorway. Your stamp was the revised stamp issued in 1919 with the word FRANK over the doorway (SG194). The cancellation seems to be a typical postal cancellation of the period.

I posted a reply on the other thread "Railway Stamps" that probably would fit here as well. Don't want to retype it. It will give you a few things to look for in RR related cancels.

I would also have to say that it is a regular postal cancellation as well.
