I recently came across this cover from a lot I purchased a while back.

The cover is from the St. John's Philatelic Society, Newfoundland & Labrador. It is number 005/500 and has a postmark of 6-25-2005.

It also has two autographs on the front: one being Steve Fossett and the other on I can't make out.

Any help with info on this would be appreciated.

Thanks, BT

Signatures are Steve Fossett (pilot) and Mark Rebholz (co-pilot/navigator) as they attempted to recreate the 1919 Vimy flight using only those instruments that were available in 1919.

A diary of their efforts is documented at this link:

That is awesome! Thank you for getting me the info I needed. I visited the link you provided. I haven't read through the diary but the pictures are incredible. I would not have gotten on that plane myself but it is really neat looking.

Again thanks for the info! Any idea as to the value?

Check out page 24 at this link where your cover is shown:

I'm not sure what the value of the cover is today, but there was reference in the article that they were being sold for $40 (Cdn) at the time of the 2005 flight re-enactment.

That is great. Thank you so much for the info and links. This adds much more enjoyment to this cover and makes it one of top ten by far.

Thanks again for your help. You are an asset to the Stamp Community!
