HI Everyone,
I actually took the USA section of the Scott Catalog, and chopped it into sections, then saved each into different file names, plus cross referenced. I took snap shots (photos) of my files so you can see.

So now, if I have an airmail or hunting permit stamp or special delivery etc stamp, I can just open up that section, instead of going through the all 1,348 pages of Volume 1. Please take a look and let me know what you think:

The only rule of good organization is that YOU have to understand it. If you achieve that then it is a good system.

I do see a lot of redundancy in files. Is that intentional?
Example:
City.Carrier.USA.Charleston
USA.City.Carrier.Charleston

and several others.

I'm a type 'A', too. It's extremely satisfying to put together a system. I think if it helps you , then it's good. :)

That looks like a lot of work. But like stamp mutt said if it works for you then it's good. I'm sure I would like it if someone else put it together for me.

Thanks for all the replies.
There are duplication, but I consider it cross reference as I will have a file for ALL the countries, all separated, (see below) to include the USA sections, so I wanted them to be listed many different ways.

I am done separating five of the six Scott Catalog volumes. What a big big chore, but it's sooooo much easier to look up a stamp without having to scroll through a thousand pages or so.. Thanks again every one!
