On this "Mayflower" issue (#548 Scott's A151) shows many extra dashes of green stretching across PILGRIM TERCENTENARY and below into the years 1620 - 1920. Does this constitute a double transfer? My 2006 Scott's has a column for this but no price dictated. Also, is 'double transfer' the same as 're-entry'??
Any input will be appreciated.

I have never seen an example of a DT on this stamp but what you have on your stamp is very characteristic of a DT.

a re-entry is done to strengthen a weak or worn transfer. A re-entry can result in a DT if the transfer roll is not well placed.

Yes, it is from Plate 12418 and is a very nice example of a downward double transfer. You will also notice that the bottom frame line is doubled and shows five horizontal dashes.

Wow that is pretty extreme and a great find Nodelli. With no price indicated does that mean its common or very uncommon and price is questionable based on existance?

Plate 12418 has no less than 5 different double transfers so they are uncommon but not rare. The lack of a price in Scott does not mean that the stamp is particularly valuable but that there is not enough market information to list a value (as is common for 20th century U. S. double transfers).

EDIT: 12 plates were used to print this stamp and I believe that Plate 12418 was the only one with double transfers.

Thanks sinclair2010, and yes Russ the dashes are there. Also the curve of the LNB shows a downward shift as well.

Thanks for the Plate reference too.
Is there much value to this? The bottom right has a corner notched out which devalues, but wondering its value pertaining to the double transfer. Probably the most sound response to this ? is "what is a collector willing to pay?". Any thoughts?

nodell that it is really a nice stamp in spite of the little corner tear. I looked it up in the the 2012 Scott's specialized catalog and it doesn't have a value like someone else stated but it is still quite valuable. Mint was $5.50 That is a pretty good markup for a one cent stamp.
