If this cover had been posted at Windsor it is catalogued around 150 pounds sterling in good condition. What a difference a few miles make - The one I have was posted at Hamstead which drops the price by about half

I wonder why Windsor is worth so much more? I know Windsor Castle and all but still I would have thought just having any cover cancelled on that day would be OK.

I suppose it's a specialized thing with covers and cancels. Love the slogan though.

Windsor... because the present queen is of the House of Windsor. That postmark makes a tie-in with the issue...any issue really as the queen's head is on all GB stamps.
The royal family used to have a Germanic name...Saxe-Coburg but during the first World War it was changed to Windsor. Saxe-Coburg became Windsor and Battenberg became Mountbatten (that sort of thing) to show the Englishness rather than the German.

Interestingly if the postmark is a PM other than the slogan PM 'Long Live the Queen' the value drops to around 15 pounds sterling for the same cover.
