Here's a low-tech and fun game I learned YEARS ago ... use a fake middle initial to track your junk mail.

E.g. if you subscribe to Gibbons Stamp Monthly, use G as your middle initial -- John G Doe. If you start receiving junk mail addressed with the G, you'll know Gibbons sold your contact info.

On the subject of who sold your name to Mystic ,you will never know .Because there are many firms that clean and filter your name first before they are sold . These large firms buy all kinds of list and then use programs to identify what brackets of interest you have and then they sell these listings to retail firms . Years ago I purchased list that had list of people who had a interest in commodity trading and talking to these people many had called for some kind of freebie or offer to any of another firms, so the resale of names is a big business .Buying and selling names is common business practice .

Floortrader, yes, I see what you mean now . I googled up 'Mystic Stamp Approvals' and followed up the sites and sub-sites.

When I read site's saying "You can earn X-$'s a month without buying a thing" with testimonies etc, all became clear concerning this topic, I'm cheesed off to say.
