wt1,

Is there a way to get on the mailing list for these invitations? Just curious!

Thanks,
Aimee

As far as I know, there is no "mailing list". The USPS posts the data on USPS Facebook or Beyond the Perf as the information is released. One must keep checking back for the latest updates. The invitation for the Cherry Blossom Stamps was just posted last evening.

Did anyone pickup the Cherry Blossom stamps at the post office today?

I found it curious that they put plate numbers in all four corners, but at the top the plate numbers are integrated with the title strip and therefore would have to be cut if one desired an UL or UR plate block.

As the specifications indicate that USPS microprinting appears on each stamp, I must say it was difficult to locate at first. The microprinting is below the second tree nearest the walkway on each stamp as shown here:

They are nice looking se-tenant stamps that will surely dress up your envelopes for those who still send "snail mail".

According to this Washington Post news article, the new Cherry Blossom Stamps are so popular, selling at the rate of 1 million a day, the original 100 million stamps that were printed are not meeting demand and the USPS has ordered another 50 million and possibly an additional printing thereafter if sales warrant it. Quite an impressive number of stamps for one issue:
