Hi Tikithindi,

I don't participate in Wikibooks but am aware of it. Myself and a few collectors have started our own wiki for stamps - its moving on nicely and currently we are up to 22000 images uploaded and 12000 stamp sets listed.

The main site is at http://www.stampsoftheworld.co.uk/

We have just uploaded the pages for Aruba, Afghanistan and Algeria.

An example of what we are trying to do for each set brought out is create a page like this : http://www.stampsoftheworld.co.uk/w..._1999_Europa

Always looking for contributors

If it is for free site for all and not going in future for
fee service than I would like to contribute there.
could you show me how?
I tried there but failed. Do not know how to do there.

tikithindi.

Cheers!

It's free. Wikibooks should always remain free. It's run by the same people that run Wikipedia. If there is no India section, just make an account and create one.

Thank you Tomislav and tikihindi.

I have finished uploading the pages for Croatia - http://www.stampsoftheworld.co.uk/w...gory:Croatia

and I am currently working on India which will be found at -
http://www.stampsoftheworld.co.uk/w...tegory:India

If anyone would like to help out with images and info for their country let me know and I will get the pages up as soon as possible. Once the pages are up it is really simple to add images and text.

Hey Stampstudy just looked at your site and like the idea of sharing information that way. Just wondering if there is a reason that you didn't most pages for the classic stamps. And was wondering where you guys aiming for also ad special types, errors, special cancellations and stuff like that? Or mostly planning on just general information? Since would like to participate into your site but would only be worth my time if its giving more information then just a picture catalogues. Just wondering where you guys aim for.

Hi DFO,

That is the beauty of the site - we can add as much or as little information as we have on hand and can then expand when we get further information.

A good example of a page with much information that was created with the help of a member on SCF is the Tuvalu Fish definitive set - http://www.stampsoftheworld.co.uk/w...ab=Varieties

You can use the tabs at the top of this page to go between the information available.

If you have a country you would like to work on let me know and I can see if I can get the base data uploaded as a framework.

It would be nice if your stamps of the world site would use the same numbering scheme as the wikibooks world stamp catalog.

Hello,

I have added Images of Stamps India from 1947 to 1970.
still in progress. First my plan is to load Stamp Images up to 2011,
than will work on information side. I still have to organize my
USA,Canada and UNO from 1974 onward.
