I questioned it before I bought it, but the seller is a reputable one. I might send it off to verify. |

Congratulations Stallzer! I'm still trying to fill that page in my album with either mint or used copies and I consider joint line pairs an added bonus. I agree with Sinclair that the joint line on the 4c looks suspect. I can't be certain due to the size of the image but under magnification it appears that some of the ink may have bled into a few of the perf holes. If you do choose to send it off for verification I'd be interested in learning the outcome. |

Hopefully I'll get them out this week as my window of opportunity to do this and get a refund if needed is closing. I might also just keep them and try and find another pair but these don't come cheaply which probably explains why I got these at the cheap price I did. After completing the Line pairs I will be getting the regular coil pairs as well and already have a jump on them. |

I just received this info on the 495 Pair from a greater mind on this subject.
"It looks OK. Remember, this is a rotary press stamp, so the line is not a printed guideline as on flat plate stamps, but a bleed line from where the hemi-cylinders meet. That line can be anywhere from faint to strong and is typically irregular.
The color of the bleed line should match that of the stamp." |

I wouldn't exactly be spiking the ball if I were you. You might want to check that VSC thread again. Another one of the "greater minds" has the same concerns as me. I don't want the pair to be bad I just want to make sure you don't get burned. |

Beautiful. I don't have ANY of these. Can't wait to hear how the 495 line question is answered. |

A #492 MNH LP (which you call Joint Line Pair) is no where near $27,000. A quick check on www.theswedishtiger.com shows that even at NY auction houses it only brought $600 for a #492 MNH LP graded at 90. On www.ebay.com/b/260/" rel="nofollow">ebay the most recent MNH LP sold for $15 -$35. A #491 MNH LP brought $19,000 at the NY Auction Houses but yours is definitely not a #491 which has only one vertical line in the second curve of the ribbon. Yours clearly shows two vertical lines which is a #492. |
