Hello everyone..okay, usually a 552 is a dark green, however this stamp does not appear that color, including does not have lines like flat plate in back..it is definitely perf.11 on all sides.what Scott number is this stamp?

Hi Blazenstar, pretty stamp you got there.
I think I have suggested this to you before - have you tried the Washington-Franklin identifier on http://stampsmarter.com ? It would at least help you get a good start with identifying these difficult stamps!

Blazen.-- Check the image...does it measure 19-3/4 x 22-1/4? If so it isn't supposed to be dark green, just "green". It would be US Scott No. 594.

The "deep green" you refer to is US Scott No. 552 (flat plate). It would have to be a changeling or something.

I'm betting you have US Scott No. 594.

Not sure if you're baiting the OP or actually think it's a Scott 594 which has a 2015 CV of $10,500.00 used.

Here is the Flat plate and a rotary press so you can see the color difference. Not definitive as there are shades involved but it should give a general idea between the 2.

Flat plate 552

Rotary press 632

I resent this. I don't bait anything or anybody.

I have gone back to 1847usa many times and cannot figure out where and how I happened upon Scott No. 594. I made a mistake.

Unlike many members here, I do not know catalog prices by heart.

you did not led me astray. This stamp came from a stamp book that had many rare stamps. It was marked near it as a 594,including two other long time collectors viewed and said they believed it was a 594 as well. I was not concentrating on the price or knew it was so difficult to find in a stamp collection. I was offered several hundred to sell the book which total under estimate of the book's value with stamps, and glad never did that. I prefer honesty like others. When my late father told me to learn about stamps he was so correct, but be very careful to sell since stamps are an investment too.

Through one of my stamp adventures, I bought a lot of george ones with pairs, singles ect.Mostly they are 632's, and 552's, but this one was similar in color as the other, but straight edge on bottom, with perf. 11's on 3 sides, including does not have lines in back as a flat plate. I have to check measurements on this too. An estate
seller at a market decides to sell stamps on table, doesn't mean cannot be a valuable stamp in the bunch. Some sellers truly don't care about the hobby to do research, and not all stamps are found in books.
