I like pictorial postmarks, so when I saw these were being offered, I promptly sent for some with (appropriate enough) the recently issued Four Flag stamps. The covers came back perfect but none of the four cancellations even touched the stamp!

Oh, well. Maybe I'll recover my $1.80 in postage and just re-use the stamps and keep the cancellations.

I wonder what would happen if you sent them off again (if possible) but moved the stamps over a little so the cancel would hit the stamps as you wish (If the cancels will be placed in the same position the second time that is).

Reminds me of what I go though trying to get a stamp cancelled here just the right way for a certain issue with just the right part of the ink jet spray on over the stamp.

miss by that much!!! - at least you got the cancels wt1 - they look great and would have been so much better "tied" to the stamps but that is the ever increasing way of the modern mail system (stamps not cancelled on letters)
