Any guesses (and that's all it would be) on the month of my bug eaten Lyerly Georgia cancel?
I'm thinking March, May, November or December (which, of course would make it a Christmas cancel!).

I'm writing up a page for this treasure and wouldn't you know, the bugs nibbled right in the middle of the letter!
No prizes, I'm afraid. Just my undying gratitude.

If you have the ability to scan in the negative, you might try that. I've had luck recovering sub-surface details that way.

You need a scanner that can scan photo negatives.

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. The photo negative scan uses a backlight to reveal details that aren't visible with a normal scan.
