Hello Fishead, and Thanks and I will get back with you on your kind offer later. Right now we are in a bit of a tizzy, having lost many pieces of our house when Ike went through Ohio yesterday(and then our roof hit my car ). It got pretty bad here, and our kids may even be out of school for a few days! Waitng to hear from our insurance company to try to at least get our roof fixed. Thanks rockin |

Hope you guys are all ok Rockinrobin.
We're getting the tail end of Ike now. But it's just a small wind storm compared to what you had.
Take care Dianne |

modern- do you mean Utica, NY? That is where I was born and raised. Dianne, how did you fare through Ike? Hope you are OK. rlorenz- Thanks, we are OK. No one hurt in my family, although, sadly, others had losses of family members in this storm. Fishead- we didn't exactly have a twister, but the wind was so bad I could hardly stand up in it when the worst came through. But there are pieces of our roof and siding all over the neighborhood! Most of the schools in Franklin and Licking county(and some in other counties) are still closed, and there are still about 250,000 people without power. Traffic lights are out all over the place, and there was a bad accident(and others besides this one) with a SUV on it's roof right down from our house. City of Columbus(OH) is asking certain areas to take it easy on water. Things are just bad in this area right now. If it rains we may end up with water damage we lost so much off of our roof, and our insurance co. is so busy in this area we don't know when they will get here! But we are lucky, no one hurt and no one blew away. rockinrobin |

Hey rockinrobin
Glad your Ok and hope you get your roof back together soon. We just had some strong winds yesterday. Not enough to cause damage. we're in a valley so things like this usually settle a bit before they get to us.

Glad to hear you are OK and that you get your roof fixed . I hope you were able to at least get some tarps up. I have been to Reynoldsburg many times so know your area well. Stay dry and protect your family (and your stamps) |

Dianne, glad to hear you're OK. I have to wander around in my car today, so I hope they have the traffic lights working!
Rick, we have a 2 story house and my husband blew his knee out, so no tarps. Just hope insurance co. can get claims adjuster out here soon! Family might get a little wet if roof leaks, but stamps will definitely stay dry-hehe. |

Quote: modern- do you mean Utica, NY? That is where I was born and raised. Yes, saw that in your profile. That's why I mentioned it. Am a native of the Utica area, myself. BTW. Utica has its ties to philately. Did you know that Arthur Hind of Utica had the largest collection in the world in his time? (Presumably larger than even our own bobgggg's Million Dollar Collection! ) He even owned the world's rarest stamp, the famed one cent British Guiana of 1873, reportedly beating out King George's own agent at an auction for this prize. Since that stamp left its home in Utica, no one knows where it is. |

Robin, sorry I did not see your post..hang in there..wind damage is covered according to the wizard...my former insurance broker wife..we have been out of power for one or two weeks a couple of times when late winter storms take tree limbs and power lines down..but we are not in the hurricane lanes !! |
